Extra-crispy air-fryer chicken wings seasoned simply and cooked in two stages for deep browning without a deep fryer. Toss with the quick buffalo sauce or serve dry with ranch and celery.
Jump to recipeDry and season. Pat the wings very dry with paper towels. Toss with baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Preheat. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F for about 3 minutes.
First cook. Arrange the wings in a single layer with a little room between them. Cook at 380°F for 24 minutes, shaking or turning every 6-8 minutes.
Crisp finish. Increase the heat to 400°F and cook 5-8 minutes more, until deeply browned and crisp.
Check doneness. Wings are safe at 165°F, but the best wing texture is usually around 175-185°F because the connective tissue softens more fully.
Sauce and serve. Toss immediately with your preferred sauce, or serve dry with ranch, blue cheese, celery, or carrots.
