Agua Fresca
Refreshingly light and naturally sweet, agua fresca is a traditional Mexican beverage that blends juicy watermelon, lime, and mint into pure summer bliss. The balance of citrus and subtle salt makes this drink incredibly thirst-quenching and perfect for hot afternoons or casual gatherings. Whip it up in minutes for an authentic, no-fuss refresher that beats any store-bought juice.

Ingredients
- 6 cups fresh watermelon, cubed and seeded
- 4 cups cold water
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2-3 limes)
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar or agave nectar, adjusted to taste
- 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
- Lime slices for garnish
- Ice cubes for serving
Instructions
- Add the cubed watermelon to a blender and blend on high speed until completely smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
- Strain the watermelon puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher, pressing with a spatula to extract all the juice. Discard the pulp.
- Add the cold water, fresh lime juice, sugar, and salt to the pitcher. Stir vigorously until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or lime juice as needed. The flavor should be light and refreshing, not overly sweet.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld and the drink to chill thoroughly.
- Stir well before serving over ice in tall glasses. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and lime slices.
