Ingredients: 2 oz reposado tequila; 1/4 oz agave syrup, preferably diluted 1:1 with warm water; 2 dashes Angostura bitters; 1 dash orange bitters (optional, recommended); 1 wide orange peel; Optional Luxardo cherry and one large ice cube

A smooth tequila twist on the Old Fashioned built with reposado, agave, and bitters, finished with an expressed orange peel. Includes a smoky mezcal-split variation.

Add the reposado tequila, agave syrup, Angostura bitters, and orange bitters to a mixing glass. filled with ice.

Stir for 20 to 30 seconds, until very cold and lightly diluted.

Strain into a chilled rocks glass over one large ice cube.

Express the orange peel over the drink, rub it around the rim, and drop it into the glass.

Add a Luxardo cherry, if desired.
